Board Requirements Brighton Center requires Board members to be engaged by attending Board meetings, each Board member serves on a committee of the Board as well. At least 51% of our Board members should work or live in Northern Kentucky. Each Board member is expected to give one unrestricted financial gift per year and connect the Center with their employer or sponsorship of event if appropriate. Each Board member is expected to represent Brighton Center to the community and share the impact of our mission. Onboarding For a Board member to be considered, they must first fill a need the Board has in it's membership. Once that is determined, the potential member meets with the CEO and Nominating Chairperson to discuss the Center and our mission/strategic plan. Nominations are taken to the full Board for consideration once a year, in May, with the Board year starting July 1. Once on the Board, an annual orientation is provided to any interested Board member covering all the basics of the organization. All new Board members serve at least one year on the Program Committee to increase their knowledge of agency services.
