Wave Pool's board is mostly a working board, each person is seen as being part of the Wave Pool team and has a special role to fill in keeping the organization rolling. There are a couple of folks on the board that serve a more advisory role as well. Board Requirements Board members are expected to attend at least 80% of our board meetings (there are 6 per year). Board members are also required to be a current Wave Pool member at the 'Adult Swim' level ($96/year) or above. Additionally, Board Members are responsible for both friend-raising and fundraising for this organization. They are expected to take an active part in supporting Wave Pool, and act as an advocate in all of their interactions with the community on the organization’s behalf. Onboarding Typically a potential board member first meets with the Executive Director and learns about the organization, then attends a board meeting to observe. After that first meeting, if both the candidate and the board are in agreement, we vote them on to the board.
