What we needFamily Events Coordinator, Volunteer Job DescriptionPosition: The Family Events Coordinator is a volunteer position for a person who is passionate about supporting families who have a seriously ill child. The Family Events Coordinator will be detail oriented, tech-savvy and have a strong sense of initiative and excellent organization skills for this position. This position works closely with our COO to continue and build programs at area hospitals and facilities that support and improve the lives of families who have children in the care of area hospitals, or who have recently suffered the loss of a child. The ideal person will be able to work well in a fast-paced, energetic environment with a positive attitude and impeccable time-management skills. This individual should be comfortable working autonomously as well as with volunteers and teammates and must excel at managing multiple tasks and execute them quickly, efficiently, and meticulously. Responsibilities: Work with COO to continue and develop new and existing programs such as our Santa’s Workshop at CCHMC and various programs throughout the year Will help develop and keep all expenses within budget for all events Will work to obtain donations and volunteers as needed for family events Will work with Community Service Coordinator on any capstone projects Help maintain documents and data for grant reporting Help with training of volunteers as needed Work with Volunteer Coordinator to identify new volunteers Must maintain the confidentiality of all families and resources Must adhere to all volunteer guidelines and attend all training required by reVIV Must adhere to all guidelines in place at community organizationsSkills and Qualifications: Have a passion for helping families who have a child with a critical diagnosis or facing a prolonged hospital stay Have experience with families in crisis Have experience working with children Have experience coordinating projects and activities Have working knowledge of Google Drive and Docs Have experience supervising others and the ability to work as a team to accomplish a common task Be able to work independently with minimal supervision Possess a valid driver’s license and insurance with a clean driving record This position is approximately 10-20 hours per month with more hours during the holidays
